Oregon Contractor’s Reference Manual
The state of Oregon and the Construction Contractors Board believe that the Oregon Contractor’s Reference Manual provides a foundation that contractors can use to better understand Oregon regulations, laws and rules pertaining to construction contractors.
Construction is a highly regulated industry, and this manual, available for pickup from Gelfand’s offices in West Linn and Scappoose, discusses key topics, chosen by successful Oregon contractors, as a way of helping contractors know and understand the laws and rules, and to help new contractors develop good business practices and avoid potential problems.
The Oregon Contractor’s Reference Manual is updated yearly, as new regulations are changed and added, and business practices and methods must change with them. Although this manual was prepared for the initial 16 hours of education and its testing program, the information in the updated manual will help you establish effective relationships with your clients, and partners in the construction industry.

Top 7 Life Insurance Tips
Tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth
Do not lie on your insurance application. If your insurance company finds out that you falsified a health-related pre-existing condition or a lifestyle habit, like smoking, they may be able to terminate your coverage and deny you payments on any claims.
Buying more is sometimes cheaper
Life insurance costs less per thousand dollars once you get into higher coverage amounts. By increasing your coverage to the next threshold (e.g., $500,000), you may be able to pay a lower premium.
